Helpful Strategies and Tips: Course Schedule
This post is part of the series Helpful Strategies and Tips: Designing an Online Course, which provides guidance through common challenges instructors face during online course development.By providing students a course schedule, you give them a global picture of the course and module activities and due dates. Provide specific dates for each activity, including a time in the appropriate time zone. We recommend that time and due dates be consistent across activity types, for example all assignments are due by 6:00 p.m. EST on the calendar due date. Consider including a statement that the instructor reserves the right to modify the assignments and the course schedule. You can notify students of changes in the discussion area, email, announcements, or course calendar. For accelerated courses, provide a suggested class routine to help students students on track.
