UT Arlington College of Nursing Names Interim Associate Dean for Research

Judy LeFloreJudy Leflore, RN, PhD, Professor of Nursing, has been named Interim Associate Dean for Research at The University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing.

A neonatal and pediatric nurse practitioner with 22 years of experience in clinical practice, Dr. Leflore is internationally recognized for her expertise in pediatric and neonatal care. With her solid record in private and federal research awards, she brings invaluable knowledge and leadership to this position.

Currently, Dr. Leflore is working with several research initiatives using gaming as an educational tool. One such project is in collaboration with UT Dallas. iNursing RN: Respiratory Distress, is a 3-D game-based simulator that incorporates videogame design elements to assist undergraduate student nurses to practice and apply their knowledge of pediatric respiratory disease.

Dr. Leflore is also director of the Pediatric, Acute Care Pediatric and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Programs at UT Arlington College of Nursing. Dr. Leflore will be inducted as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing this October 2012.

A national search for an Associate Dean for Research is ongoing.The University of Texas at Arlington’s College of Nursing is one of the largest and most successful nursing programs the nation.
