UTA College of Nursing Enrollment Quadruples Over Past 4 Years

Submitted by on March 8, 2013 – 12:00 pmNo Comment

The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) has hit an all-time high enrollment of over 33,000 students. The College of Nursing has highly contributed to this enrollment spike with the College’s own enrollments quadrupling over the past 4 years.

Studies indicate that healthcare employers are hiring more nurses with advanced degrees, and nursing enrollment at UTA College of Nursing (CON) is reflective of this demand. With the recent Institution of Medicine recommendations and the push for Magnet designation of healthcare institutions, this number will continue to rise.

UTA CON partnered with Academic Partnerships in the fall of 2008 with the offering of their online RN to BSN program, which has graduated over 2,500 nurses since that time. With that success underway, the prelicensure BSN program and two MSN programs have been added to the online offerings. As a testimony to the quality of these programs, over 90% of their graduates pass the state licensure exam on the first attempt.
