THE STANDARDS

Quality Matters (QM) is the global organization leading quality assurance in online and innovative digital teaching and learning environments. The QM 7th Edition Rubric and accompanying 44 Specific Review Standards help support and guide faculty and instructional designers through the development and improvement of online courses. Standards found in this rubric are evidence-based and peer-reviewed and are used to review courses through the lens of the student experience. These rubric standards do not review the quality of course content.

The rubric is divided into eight general review standards that tackle various facets of course design and quality.
